I recently saw a Facebook post that I'm adapting to show a particularly important point in our living of our faith!

As we move into the season of Eastertide, waiting for the coming of the Spirit on Pentecost, we need to remember that Jesus NEVER told us being Christian was some sort of badge of honor. Rather, he told us that to be his disciples, we need to live as he lived, love as he loved, face the same challenge of being different by reason of love - not race, class, or any other external identifier. WE are to BE Christ to the world, not expect that by appending the term Christian to our identity we have become holy. No, we become holy by living as Christ called us to live - as God's children ministering to God's children, stopped only by THEIR refusal of that ministry of love.

The challenge is there. Do we have the faith to take it up and show the world what real Christians are? The ball is in our court now!
