“Do you not know that a little yeast leavens all of the dough? Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough, as you really are unleavened. Therefore, let us celebrate, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (Adaptation of 1 Corinthians 5: 6b-8, NRSV)

Hallelujah, Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen, Indeed, Hallelujah!

As we move into this Easter season, a time of rebirth and renewal, I wanted to reflect back on the work of Lent. We have spent the past six weeks doing the very hard work of centering ourselves, of working on ourselves, of healing ourselves and our relationships with God and others. We have done this very hard work to dig deep and find out who we are, as children of God, so we can now go out into the world, new and renewed. We have removed the old yeast and are now new batches of dough, ready to rise in the light of Christ’s love.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Lesley Buelow
